ABOUT ME
Hello! I'm Jules.
I've been providing exceptional editing accuracy on tight timelines and high-profile projects for seventeen years. My clients include Relegation Books, Stillhouse Press, Forbes, Procter & Gamble, The Kroger Co., Abbott Laboratories, Conagra Brands, The Ohio Lottery, and many more. I'm also the author of the novels Both Can Be True and Fight + Flight under the pen name Jules Machias; both are published by HarperCollins.
For my book editing clients: As an author and a parent, I’m interested in a wide range of topics that affect today’s kids, tweens, teens, and adults, from external factors like our ever-changing political climate to internal concerns like first love, personal aspirations, and peer and family relationships. If you’re writing for kids, you’re writing for our future. I’m committed to helping you share your message and voice as clearly and effectively as possible. To see a list of books I've recently edited (and to read reviews of my work), check out my Reedsy profile.
My advertising editing and proofreading experience spans everything from reviewing reports on how blockchain and machine learning are affecting the loyalty marketing industry to editing a diaper decoder that explains why a baby might produce a color and texture of...well, you likely don’t want the specifics, but I can assure you the descriptions were punctuated and spelled correctly. If it has words on it, there’s a good chance I’ve edited something like it.
In addition to writing, I’m a photographer and visual artist. I live in Cincinnati with my family, a big pack of rescue dogs with varying disabilities, and loads of books on every topic under the sun. I love staying active with trail running, weight lifting, biking, and obstacle course racing (OCR). In 2016, I competed in the OCR World Championships with my brother Phil, who is an American Ninja Warrior finalist (watch for the guy with the big spray-painted beard).
